Meet our Committee
Our committee is made up of passionate club members who work behind the scenes to keep Cranbourne running smoothly. They’re dedicated to supporting our members, growing the club, and making sure everything we do meets Royal Kennel Club rules—so you can focus on enjoying training, competing, and having fun with your dogs.
Dawn - Chair
Dawn started agility in 2006 with her husband, Chris, and their dogs, Amber and Dharma. Over the years, they've shared their lives with seven rescue dogs, six of whom have competed in agility and flyball. Dawn says "we love dog sports for the mental and physical challenge and the strong bond they create". Dawn joined Cranbourne in 2018 and currently competes with four dogs.
Mel - Vice Chair
Mel has owned Border Collies for over 40 years and joined Cranbourne in 1994, where she began agility and met her husband. An instructor since 1998, she is now Vice Chair and the first point of contact for new members. She also judges at championship shows and handles search-and-rescue dogs, qualifying seven to compete in agility.
Karen - Secretary
Karen discovered agility after years of watching it at Crufts, but it was Hazel, her energetic spaniel, who inspired her to take part. They began training in 2022, joined Cranbourne in 2024, and now compete at Grade 3. As Club Secretary since 2025, Karen supports the club’s smooth running and community.
Anna - Treasurer
Anna trains at Cranbourne with her Brittany, Piper. As Brittanies are known for their independence and scenting, keeping her focused has been a real challenge. Anna has done a fantastic job; and they now compete at Grade 6. Anna has been our Treasurer since 2023.
Judy joined Cranbourne in 2004 looking for something new to enjoy with her black Labrador, Baggy. He was followed by Woody, Harry, and now Maverick, her most challenging training partner yet. Judy joined the committee to give back to a club that she says has brought her a brilliant sport and great friendships.
Niki has been involved in agility on and off for over 30 years, working with dogs who need an outlet. Competing with Casper and Holly took her to Grade 3. They’re now retired, and she’s training her lurcher, Bowtruckle, who also competes in flyball.
Gill joined Cranbourne in 2023 after a long-held dream of doing agility. That dream became reality with Ziva, her nervous rescue dog, and it has really helped build both confidence and teamwork skills. Gill recently joined the committee to support the club that she also says has given them so much fun and support.
